                         End of the Crescendo

This is just a preview, I'm still writing the first chap! Don't forget you can't steal anything from this site.it's MINE! XD

Kaene opened his eyes when he woke even though he knew he would see only darkness. This time, however, there was a light reddish spot in the mass of black. He thought it might be a new development of his sixth sense, but then realized it came from the direction of his bedroom window where the sun usually greeted him as it rose. It was a sign that his vision would start returning today.

He wondered for a moment while he stretched if he should mention it to his father yet, or wait until he could see completely. Undecided, he let his mind drift to a slight ping that tickled in the side of his brain and he focused on it. It was the sixth sense he had been developing, a normal feeling he had ignored before he had been purposefully and temporarily blinded. The feeling was a presence, someone that he could tell was approaching his tower.

While Kaene pulled his thoughts around the presence, he felt the air displacing the body of the visitor. It was all just a feeling, one that not many knew how to interpret. It was a relatively new skill the people of Arion called "channeling", in which the senses other than sight are enhanced and used to reach out to those things that can't be seen. The figure Kaene was channeling was rather far away and at the lower level of his personal domain, the tallest tower in his father's palace. Kaene smirked to himself, knowing that he was getting pretty good at this sense. Soon, the figure felt more familiar with a very gentle thread of scent that reached Kaene's nose. It was too faint to identify clearly, but Kaene knew it was no stranger. He knew it was a servant. As the door opened he felt a slight nervousness from the young maid.

Kaene guessed in his head that this was Nell before the girl had a chance to speak.

"Your Majesty," she began, quietly. It was Nell. Kaene sat up straight, beaming with pride. He remained facing the window even as she was behind him,

"His Highest, Kasdan wishes his son to leave the palace again, today and use his new gift away from the city", she was very timid.

"After breakfast", noted Kaene. He stood and turned around,

"Of course, Your Majesty, your meal is on its way", she said. Kaene could feel the slightest movement of air around her, as he was still channeling, and noted that she curtsied. Kaene dismissed her, showered, and groomed himself. His royal tailors brought him newly fashioned clothing that they usually created during the monthly storm. Today was the first day of the snake, the month he had been born in.

With breakfast came a gift from his father, delivered by a servant. Kaene wasn't too upset, he did see his father enough, and just the thought that he had been alive for eighty eight markers was enough to fill him with just a little more pride.
